Benzodiazepine is a substance used to treat anxiety disorders.
Bronchodilator is a substance that relaxes the bronchial smooth muscles in the respiratory system.
Corticosteroids are substances used to prevent minor asthma attacks or to treat severe attacks.
Decongestant refers to a substance that shrinks the mucos membranes that produce congestion.
Diuretic is a substance that increases the water output in the kidneys; reduces water retention in the body.
Expectorant is a substance that remove mucos from the upper respiratory system.
Histamine (H2) Blocker reduce acid secretion by blocking histamine from reaching the H2 receptors.
Hypnotic refers to a substance that relaxes the CNS to produce sleep.
Muscle Relaxant are used to treat involuntary, painful contraction of muscles by slowing the passage of nerve signals that cause pain to the muscles.
Narcotic is a drug that is potentially highly abused as a pain reliever, causing dependency and tolerance.
NSAID are substances that inhibit the production of the enzymes necessary for the synthesis of prostaglandins, reducing pain and inflammation.
PPI are substances that reduce gastric acid build-up by blocking the release of protons by proton pumps.
Sedative relieves anxiety and tension; calms and relaxes.
Stimulant are a class of medications that are intended to increase alertness and physical activity.
Vasodilator is a substance that causes the blood vessels to widen.
