Identify the purpose for the following drug/classes

Phenobarbital for the treatment of partial/clonic seizures; used to treat seizures in infants (febrile)
Lithium for the treatment of bi-polar disorder
Ritalin is a CNS stimulant; Used to treat ADHD and Narcolepsy
Zarontin for the treatment of absence seizures
Narcotic analgesics for the treatment of moderate to severe pain
Tolinase is an oral diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar levels
amphetamines for the treatment of narcolepsy and ADHD
ethosuximide is used to treat petit maul (absent) seizures
Benzodiazapines drugs used to treat anxiey that have a depressive action on the CNS
Local anesthesia agents that act to produce a loss of sensation from a local area of the body.
General anesthesia normally used to produce loss of consciousness before and during surgery
Donepezil improves the function of nerve cells in the brain; prevents the breakdown of acetylcholine
Timoptic purpose: to reduce IOP; S/E: conjunctivitis, eye irritation, blurred vision
Miotics purpose: causes the pupil to contract; S/E: blurred vision, twitching, eye pain, photophobia
Mydriatics purpose: to dialate the pupil; S/E: increased IOP, local irritation, blurred vision, flushing
