facial | muscles of face, test:close eyes tight, smile and show teeth, whisle and puff cheeks, identify familiar taste. |
vestibulocochlear | hearing:ear, balance:ear, test: hear watch ticking, hearing tests, balance and coordination. |
glossopharyngeal | tast-posterior 1/2 of tonque sensory-tonsils, pharynx, middle ear, motor-stylopharyngeus, parotid gland. |
vagus | motor-heart, lungs, palate, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, GI tract, sensory-heart, lungs, trachea, bronchi, larynx, pharynx, GI tract, external ear. test: gag reflex, ability to swallow, say ahhhh. |
accessory | sternocleidomastoid and trapezius muscle, test: resisted shoulder shrug. |
hypoglossal | tongue muscles, test: tongue protrusion(if injured, tonque deviates toward injured side) |
