Method of delivery; Manuscript Speech is read from a fully prepared text. Purpose: When precise wording is called for.
Method of delivery; Memory Speech is delivered entirely from memory. Purpose: When a speaker is called on in special occasions.
Method of delivery; Impromptu Speech is prepared without delivery, preparation, or practice. Purpose: When a speaker is called on or elects to speak without prior planning or preparation.

8x8 Rule Using 8 words per line and a max of 8 lines in a conclusion to simplify a message.
Typeface Specific style of lettering. ex "Times New Roman"
San Serif Typefaces More blocklike and linera, easier on the eye.
Serif Typefaces Include small flourishes or strokes at the tops and bottoms of each letter.
Persuasive Speaking A form of speech that is intended to influence the attitudes, beliefs, values, and actions of others.
Logos Cause persuasion with evidence to reasoning.
Syllogism Three part argument consisting of a general case, specific case, and conclusion
Pathos Appealing to the listeners emotions
Ethos Moral character of the speaker
Claim to Fact Focus on whether something is or is not true
Claim of Value Addresses issues of judgment
Claim of Policy Recommending a specific course or action to be taken or approved by an audience
Evidence Supporting material that provides grounds for a belief
Warrant Shows why the link between claim and evidence is valid
Warrants by Cause Offer a cause-and-effect relationship as proof of the claim
Warrants by Sign Imply that such a close relationship exists between two variables that the presence or absence of one may be taken as an indication of the presence or absence of the other
