| mountain | land with steeo sides that rise sharply (1,000ft or more) from surronding land |
| mountain range | a series of connected mountains |
| monsoon | seasonal wind that blow over a continent for a long period of time |
| weather | unpredictable changes in the air that take place in a short period of time |
| peninsula | body of land jutting out into a lake or an ocena surrouned on three sides by water |
| plain | area of low land at low elevation;covered with grass |
| plateau | flat or rolling land at high elevation usually 300- 30000 ft high |
| physiccal feature | characteristics of a place- naturally occurring like landforms climate, resources |
| river | large body of water partially or competely surrouned by land |
| sea | narrow stretch of water joining teo larger bodies of water |
| strait | narrow stretch of water joing two larger bodies of water |
| ocean | one of the for major bodies of salt water that surround the continents |
| volcano | mountain created a liqid rock and ash erupt from inside the earth |
| valley | area of lowland between hills and mountains |
