What is Oxygenation?
Oxygenation occurs when O2 passes through the alveolar capillary membrane into the blood stream.
What is Circulation?
Circulation occurs to deliver O2 to the tissues. This is done through contraction of the heart & descending pressure gradient that exists in the vascular system.
What is Perfusion?
After Circulation Perfusion occurs, O2 crosses from the blood into the tissues through pressure gradient. This occurs because of the difference of the partial pressure of O2 between blood stream & tissue.
What is Ventilation?
Ventilation must occur. Ventilation is nothing more than moving Air into the Alveoli Space & CO2 out of those same spaces(Lungs).
In Respiratory care, Therapeutics deal with 4 area . What are they?
1. Ventilation 2. Oxygenation 3. Perfusion 4. Underlying Disease / Problem
