Enumerated powers (delegated/expressed)   Powers WRITTEN in the US Constitution that Congress (the federal government) has...Ex: declare war, coin money, establish military, collect taxes, etc.

Implied Powers (Necessary and Proper Clause/Elastic Clause)   Powers NOT WRITTEN in the US Constitution that Congress has; Congress has the power to do anything necessary and proper to carry out their enumerated powers (Ex: draft for the military; establish a Federal Reserve for money)

Reserved Powers   Powers that states have that ARE NOT in the US Constitution; this comes from the 10th amendment (Ex: education, marriages, drivers licenses, elections)

Concurrent Powers   Powers shared by federal and state governments at the same time (Ex: taxes, courts)

Laws/legislation   Rules or policies that govern a territory and are meant to keep order.
