| Term | Definition |
| Undergraduate | A student at a college or university who has not yet earned a bachelor's or equivalent degree. |
| Graduate Student | A student who continues studies after graduation. |
| Alumni | A graduate or former male student of a particular school, college, or university. |
| Admission | The process through which students enter tertiary education at universities and colleges. |
| Bachelor's Degree | An academic degree conferred on someone who has successfully completed undergraduate studies. |
| Associate's Degree | An undergraduate academic degree awarded by community colleges, junior colleges, technical colleges, and bachelor's degree-granting colleges and universities upon completion of a course of study usually lasting two years. |
| ACT | A standardized tests accepted by most colleges and universities for admissions purposes. The ACT tends to be more popular in the South and Midwest. |
| SAT | A standardized test for most college admissions in the United States. The SAT is owned, published, and developed by the College Board, a nonprofit organization in the United States. |
| Transcript | Proves your accomplishments in higher education. It says how satisfactory your performance was. |
| Financial Aid | Money to support a person in college (loan). |
| Major | Different clusters you can choose to pursue in college (what job you want to do). |
| Minor | A college or university student's declared secondary field of study or specialization during his or her undergraduate studies. |
| Credits | A unit that gives weighting to the value, level or time requirements of an academic course taken at a school or other educational institution. |
| Public College | A university that is funded by public. |
| Private College | A university funded by itself. |
