Meteoroid | Small rocky body orbiting the sun. Similar to an asteroid but smaller. |
Meteor | Bright streak of light caused by a meteoroid burning up in the Earth’s Atmosphere. (Shooting star) |
Meteorite | Meteoroid that enters the Earth’s atmosphere and strikes the ground. |
Axis | Planets rotate on this. |
Milky Way | The name of our spiral galaxy. |
Ellipse | Shape of the planets orbit. |

Waxing | To see more. Move from New to Full moon |
Waning | To see less. Move from Full to New moon |
Seasons | Due to tilt of Earth |
Moon phase | Changing in the appearance of the moon. |

perigee | Closest point of moon orbit to earth |
apogee | Farthest point of moon orbit to earth |
nebula | A large cloud of gas and dust spread out over a large volume of space. |
absolute magnitude | How bright an object actually is. |
apparent magnitude | How bright an object appears in the sky from Earth. |
