Parallel Motion Two notes going in the same direction and at the same pitch
Contrary Motion Two notes get closer together in pitch
Oblique Motion One Melodic line moves while the other stays in the same place
Similar Motion Two notes going in the same direction but not at the same distances
Parallel octaves error Putting two voices together that are an octave apart
Voice Crossing error Crossing two voices from where they are supposed to be
Spacing error Putting two voices too far apart. The rule is keeping it closer than an octave unless it's the tenor and bass voices
Doubling error Putting a note twice that shouldn't be put (EX. Putting a fifth of the triad twice instead of the root)
Range error Going too high or too low for a voice
Hidden Fifth error When the soprano voice and base voice end a fifth apart
Perfect authentic cadence V - I
Imperfect authentic cadence vii - I or V - I but the soprano doesn't end on tonic
Half Cadence Ends on V
Plagal Cadence VI - I
