Absolute value | This is a number a is the distance between a and 0 on the number line. |
Conditional statement | This has a hypothesis and a conclusion. |
Commutative of addition | The order in which you add 2 numbers doesn't change its sum (3+2=2+3). |
Commutative of multiplication | The order in which you multiply 2 numbers doesn't change the product (10x2=2x10). |
Associative of addition | The way you group 3 numbers in a sum doesn't change the answer (1+2)3= 1+(2+3). |
Associative of multiplication | The way you group 3 numbers in a product doesn't change the answer (4x5)2=4(5x2). |
Identity of addition | Adding doesn't change the number zero to a number (5+0=5). |
Identity of multiplication | Multiplying by one doesn't change a number (10x1+10). |
Inverse of addition | The sum of a number and its inverse is equal to zero (-6+6=0). |
Property of zero | The product of zero and a number is always zero (20x0=0). |
Property of -1 | The product of -1 and a number, makes the number its opposite (7x-1=-7) or (-8x-1=8). |
Multiplicative inverse | The product of a number and its reciprical equals one (2 divided by 5 x 5 divided by 2 = 10 divided by 10. |
Coefficients | These are numbers in front of variables. |
