Involuntary muscle that is found only in the heart. cardiac muscle
What are the three types of muscle tissue? Which type is voluntary? The three types of muscle tissue are: skeletal muscle, smooth muscle, and cardiac muscle. Because skeletal muscles are generally under conscious control, they are also known as voluntary muscles.
How is the design of smooth muscle different from that of striated muscle? 1/2 Smooth muscle is designed quite differently from striated muscle. Whereas striated muscles consist of long, parallel fibers, smooth muscles consists of shorter, wider cells in a looser arrangement.
How is the design of smooth muscle different from that of striated muscle? 2/2 Striated muscles are designed to contract and relax very quickly, but smooth muscle is specialized for relatively slow, powerful, and prolonged contractions.
