Ecosystem A system in which living things interact` with themselves and their non living environment in such a way that the entire system is perpetuated (keeps going)
Scavengers Consumers that eat other consumers that have already dies. (Killed by another organism) E.G. Turkey vultures.
Carnivores Consumers that only eat other consumers.
Omnivore Consumers that eat plants and animals.
Tertiary Consumer A consumer that eats secondary consumers. (May be a carnivore, omnivore or scavenger)
Secondary Consumer A consumer that eats a primary consumer.
Herbivore Plant eaters (only)
Primary Consumers Consumers that producers
Consumer Organisms that cant make their own energy.
Producer Organisms that can produce/make their own food.
Decomposers Organisms that can break down dead organic matter so that the nutrients can be renewed by plants
Food Web Diagrams that show the feeding relationships in the ecosystem
Food Chain The transfer of energy from the sun to producer to primary consumer to tertiary consumer.
