Was Hamilton a Federalist or a Republican? Federalist
What was Shay's Rebellion? A rebellion against the government among the farmers to keep the state from taking their farms.
The Anti-Federalists felt that the Constitution gave too much power to the national government because it gave them power that the people couldn’t control so the Federalists.... created 3 branches of government which divides the power, and a system of checks and balances to keep any one branch from becoming too powerful
• In the Constitution there is a Supremacy clause, that makes national laws superior and they’re concerned because they’re afraid state laws won’t matter so the Federalists.... reserved specific powers just for the states
What were the major differences between Hamilton and Jefferson? National bank, regional differences, tariffs, and foreign policy
What is a tariff? A tax on all imports and exports
Who wanted a national bank? Hamilton
Who wanted France, who wanted Britain, and why? Hamilton=Britain *Americans still had friends and family in Britain Jefferson=France *He was strongly against Britain, the British were raiding and stealing American ships
What branch of government does the President belong to? The Executive Branch
What are the two houses of the Legislative branch? The House of Representatives and The Senate
