What is the function of the blood? The blood is a kind of transportation system that transports needed element to the cells of the body and removes wastes products.
What are the four chambers of the heart? The four chambers of the heart are two atria and two ventricles.
What are the jobs of the blood vessels? To carry blood to and away from the heart, the arteries carry oxygenated blood away from the heart, the veins carry deoxyginated blood back to the heart.
What can cause the blood to form clots? A low blood pressure.
What is pulmonary embolism? It's when a clot flows with the blood and becomes lodged in the blood vessels of the lungs.
Why do older people tend to tire more easily and have less reserved energy? As a person gets older the movement of the blood through the body tends to slow down and the heart muscle weakens.
What happens in the pulmonary circulation? In the pulmonary circulation the blood picks up oxygen and gets rid of carbon dioxide.
Why are the white blood cells important? The white blood cells are important because they fight infection and defend the bpody against disease, people who have few white blood cells have a lower resistance to disease.
What are some common diseases or the circulatory system? 1.Arteriosclerosis 2.Angine pectoris
What happens with each disease? 1.the walls of the arteries become thicker with fatty deposits and less elastic than they should be for the normal regulation of blood flow and blood pressure. 2. Heart pain that results of insufficient blood flow and oxygen to the heart muscles.
