Facts on the rise of industry.

What is Industrialism? A system based on the use of machines rather than on animal or human power.
What is the Agricultural revolution? It helped the industry to take root in Great Britain.
What is the Enclosure movement? A movement that began when parliament allowed large land owners to fence off common lands.
What is Textile? A type of cloth or woven fabric.
What is Crop rotation? The rotating of crops on three fields instead of two.
What is a Domestic system? Cottage industry.
What is Factory system? A method of production that brought machines and workers together in one place.
What is Urbanization? Movement of people from rural areas to cities.
What is Monopoly? Total control, of industry.
What did Zaibatsu mean? Rich country, strong army.
What is the Industrial capitalism? A system based on industrial production of goods, the capital, or money, earned in this way created a new industrial middle class.
What is Partnership? People who invest money to earn a profit.
What is a Corporation? Organizations owned by stockholders who buy shares in company.
What is a Trade union? Association of workers with the same skill who unite to improve wages, benefits, working conditions, and worker rights.
What is a Strike? Refusal to work, in order to force factory owners to talk with them.
What is Socialism? A form of government that should own and control the means of production.
What is Means of production? Factories, land, capital, and raw materials.
