Aggression and theor

What is aggresion? | Behaviour that harms another human being Behaviour that is intentional Outside the rules of the game |
What is hostile Aggression? | is the intention to harm outside the rules, often an emotional response to another person or situation, the sole purpose is to cause injury. |
What is instrumental aggression? | aggression that intends to harm as a means to another goal. For example, i f you rugby tackle someone with great force with the intentions of making them fear you or be winded and out the game. |
What is assertive behaviour? | involves the use of physical force but is within the rules or ethics of the sport and is therefore acceptable. |
What is Channelled behaviour? | is another more positive form of aggression, where the performer is able to divert aggressive feelings into positive actions such as working harder. |
What is Instict Theory? | This theory states that aggressive impulses build up within an individual and if not released can psychologically damaging |
What is the frustration - aggression hypothesis? | This theory states that frustration causes aggression. This normally occurs when you are near your goal. |
What is Aggressive cue theory? | This theory states that environmentl cues may cause aggression. For example stimuli that may trigger aggression for a boxer is his gloves. |
What is Deindividuation theory? | This theory states that individuals will, in certain situation, act differntly when in a crowd than they might as an individual. For example in a larger group or crowd, the more likely the indivdual will act as the crowd does. |
