undergraduate a student at a college or university who has not yet earned a bachelor's or equivalent degree
graduate student a student who continues studies after graduation
alumni a graduate or former student, esp. male, of a particular school, college, or university
admission the process through which students enter tertiary education at universities and colleges
bachelor's degree an academic degree conferred on someone who has successfully completed undergraduate studies(at 4 year school)
associate's degree a degree granted by a two-year college on successful completion of the undergraduates course of studies
ACT American College Testing; a standardized test for high school achievement and college admissions
SAT Scholastic Aptitude Test; the most widely used standardized test for college admissions; covers critical reading, mathematics and writing
transcript an inventory of the courses taken and grades earned of a student alleged throughout a course
finacial aid funding that is intended to help students pay education-related expenses including tuition, fees, room and board, books, and supplies for education at a college, university, or private school
major the academic discipline to which an undergraduate student formally commits
minor a college or university student's declared secondary field of study or specialization during his/hers undergraduate studies
credits a unit that gives weighting to the value, level or time requirements of an academic course taken at a school or other educational institution
public college a college where the college's funding comes partly from state taxpayers
private college a college where the college's funding comes from tuition, investments and private donors
