| Global Warming | This is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the Earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect |
| Greenhouse Gases | A gas that contributes to the Greenhouse effect by absorbing infrared radiation; example: carbon dioxide, and chlorofluorocarbons |
| Greenhouse Effect | This is the trapping of the sun's warmth in a planet's lower atmosphere |
| Acid Rain | This is rainfall made by atmospheric pollution like the burning of coal and other fossil fuels for example; and that can cause environmental harm (typically to forests and lakes) |
| Pollution | Something that has poisonous or harmful effects on the environment (like smoking, the pollution in the air is rising, etc.) |
| Adapt | Making something or yourself more suitable to something else (in other words, getting used to a new place with a new climate, etc.) |
| Depend | To be controlled or determined by, or to rely on |
| Modify | To make partial or minor changes (to something) |
| Natural Disaster | A natural hazard, something we can't prevent from happening or control necessarily (for ex.: tornadoes, hurricanes, etc.) |
| Deforestation | The process of cutting down forests of trees for special purposes like wood, and other supplies |
