Animistic theories | Primitive people developed a sense of soul through experiences with death and dreams. Belief animas were found in people AND nature. (In-animate objects pregnant with divinity). - Origins of the soul. |
Nature worship theory | Religions developed through observation of forces inherent in nature. E.G. Seasons, tides, moon phases. Mythology occurred. |
Theory of original monotheism | Hunter gatherer cultures shared a common belief in the sky God, who existed among lesser Gods. A polytheistic understanding but created God elevated to the top. |
Heno-theism | Rising a particular God. Eternity, omniscience, morality, omnipotent. |
The Magic theory | Religion arose due to human inability to control nature through magic. |
Types of Religion - BASIC | Religion whose ideas are not preserved in written form. (Of prehistoric people) (Oral religions) |
Types of Religion - INDIAN | Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Seekism. |
Types of Religion - CHINESE AND JAPANESE | Taoism, Confucionism, Shinto. |
