What kind of sins does Yom Kippur atone for? Sins against G-d, like eating forbidden food
How does one atone for sins against people? By paying back all necessary fines and then apologizing
What if the victim does not forgive the aggressor? The aggressor must apologize in front of three of the victim's friends, then to six of the victim's friends and then to nine of the victim's friends
Why is it a sin not to forgive someone? Because forgiveness is the nature of a true Jew
How does one atone for sins against someone who has died? They must go to his grave with 10 other people and say "I have sinned before the Lord, G-d of Israel, and to this person for I did _____ to him." If he had to pay money, he must pay it to his heirs. If no heirs, gives money to Court of Law and confesses.
Why is it important to tell someone that you hate them? So that they can change their ways
What must one do if they witness their friend sinning? Tell them that they are sinning and explain theh rules of Teshuva.
How should one tell their friend that they are sinning? Does it matter what kind of sin it is? It does not matter what kind of sin it is. One should talk to their friend in private and explain that it is for their own good. They should speak politely. They should try as many times as it takes until they listen.
Why do we have to rebuke people who are sinning? To stop sins from happening in the world
Is someone's teshuva accepted if they sin with the intention of repenting? No
Whose teshuva is not accepted? One who repents repeatedly, one who sins repeatedly, one who sins in a sinless generation, one who sins with the intention of repenting, one who profanes G-d's name
What is the double function of Yom Kippur? Kapparah (forgiveness) and Taharah (purification)?
