What do ordinances and articles of faith together create? Doctrine
What is doctrine? What we adhere to based on Spiritual Conviction as to the teachings of Jesus Christ
What are two ordinances of the church? Baptism & Lord's Supper
What kind of ordinance is the Baptism? Obedience (See Mat 28:18-19)
What kind of ordinance is the Lord's Supper? Remembrance (See 1 Cor 11:24)
Why do we baptize by immersion? Jesus commanded it in order to fulfill righteousness See Mat 28:18-19
Why do we baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost? *See Mat 28:18-19*
What is rantizo? Baptism by Sprinkling
What is baptize? baptism by immersion, following Christ's example
What is novation? a man or woman who is ill and must be baptized by sprinkling
Why was Peter declaring "be baptized in the name of Jesus"? (Acts 2:38) Peter was reminding them of what they had done to Jesus (Tongue Lashing) See all of Acts 2

Why do Christians not observe the Jewish Sabboth It was established under the old testament. Jesus made it unnecessary
What is a New Testament Church? Jesus is the Founder; Bible is the Supreme Authority; Death Burial & Resurrection; Virgin Birth Holy Trinity
What is the Biblical definition of a leader? Servant
What are the two scriptural office of the church? Pastor or Bishop; Deacon
What are the Biblical qualifications for a Pastor/Bishop *See 1 Timothy 3:1-7* (Memorize Qualifications for Overseers)
What are the Biblical qualifications for a Deacon? *See 1 Tim 3:8-13* (Memorize Qualifications for Deacons)
What is the process for choosing deacons? Choose men of good character; Full of the Holy Spirit & wisdom See Acts 6:1-7
Who was the first deacon? Stephen (See Acts 6:8)
Who is able to perform the ordinances of the church? Pastor, deacon, whoever the pastor empowers
What can a licentiate not do? Anything that requires a legal signature? (Weddings & Funerals)
Why do we hold the Christian Sabbath on the first day of the week? Its the day: Jesus arose; Jesus Appeared to the disciples; Jesus Ascended into heaven; Pentecost came; Commanded to give contributions
What is the goal of preaching? Salvation of Sinners (See Rom 10:14)
What is the goal of teaching? Edification of the saints
Who is able to sit in the pulpit? Pastors and/or church designates
What are the four elements of worship? Preaching; Praying; Singing; Giving
What is a unilateral promise? Covenant with no conditions except God's love (See John 3:16)
What is a conditional Promise? "If...Then" concept; When God requires something of us in order to fulfill his part of the promise; Because God is sovereign, He doesn't have to fulfill his part of the promise but we must fulfill our part (See 2 Chr 7:14)
If there is a secular side to church business? (Secular meaning worldly motivation) When business is handled according to the Word of God there is no need for it
Should the preacher.church be invloved in politics? yes but not from the pulpit; As stewards of God's world we should have influence through Godly government
Should teachers placed in position bases upon talent? Not talent but spiritual gifts
What is the gospel? The Good News of Jesus Christ
What is the Trinity? God the Father; God the Son; God the Holy Spirit
What is incarnation ministry? When we as believers become invovled in the life of others to lead them to Jesus Christ building relationships/Loving/Caring/meeting needs
What is a cult? Anything that does not contain one or more of the elements of a New Testament Church
What is the occult? Open Satanic Worship
What is our view of tele-evangelism? good for people that can't come to church but not a substitute for collective worship (See Hebrews 10:25)
What is ministry? Meeting needs
What are the three modes of membership in the church? Baptism; Letter; Christian Experience
What are the three ways of dismissal? Death; Transfer; Exclusion
What are the four ares the church owes its membership? Gospel instruction (teaching); Training for service; Fellowship; Watch Care
What do members owe the church? Fulfill all covenant agreements; Serve God; Love one another; Tithe; Ministry Involvement
What are the duties of the Pastor? Direct & Supervise religious instructions; Administer ordinance of the church; preside over church meetings;account for stewardship; watch over the lives of the flock
What is required of Elders? Be bonded; Exercise with care the business of the church on behalf of the church under the authority of the Pastor
What are the five requirements/laws of disciples? Biblical standards on how to deal with discord (Mat 18:15); The law of Love (1 Cor 13); The law of confession (Rom 10:9); The law of forgiveness; guidance of the offender
What are the three rights of an accused member? Copy of Charges; The names of the accusers/witnesses; Chance to see and hear statements and see church records of the case
What is restoration? Bringing back into fellowship a member who repents and discontinues the offense (Gal 6:1)
What is the church covenant? a promise we make to God Church and ourselves
What are the items in administering the Lord's Supper? Bread representing the broken body of Jesus Christ Wine representing the blood of Jesus Christ
What should be said at baptism? Upon the profession of your faith in accordance with the great commission given by our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, I now baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in Jesus Name
What is the Biblical plan for giving? What: 10% of gross earnings (Gen 28:22); When: On the Lord's day (Sunday) (1 Cor 16:1-2); Where: Church (Mal 3:8-10); How: Systematic & Regularly (1 Cor 6:1-2)
Why is the tithe important? percentage giving principle makes the sacrifice equal; Even through people make different amounts the sacrifice is the same
What is an offering? Anything over and above the tithe (Mal 3:8-10)
