What component locks the piston in the retracted position? ball lock assembly
What causes the piston inside the canopy actuating cylinder to move either up or down? pressurized nitrogen from the pneumatic line

How are the canopy selector valves operated? by a pulley and cable system through the cockpit handles, and by a linkage system through the external handles (on the fuselage)

What occurs when the canopy selector handle is moved to the CLOSE position? pressurized air enters the selector valve through the 325psi inlet, and is sent to the canopy actuator through the close port

Where are the restrictor valves located? One is connected to the outlet port of the auxiliary release air bottle, and the other in the normal canopy system supply line
