Once the installation commander or HQ AFPC/DPFCS selects an individual for casualty notification duty, what should they learn? (1-8) They should learn as much as they can about the casualty, the NOK, and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
What does the instalation CAR or HQ AFPC/DPFCS provide during the Pre-Notification Phase? (1-8) Instructions if problems occur
As a minimum, the notification officer should do what during the notification process? (1-9) After identifying yourself, make sure you are speaking to the correct person(s) by confirming the identity of the NOK
What is the purpose of case files? (1-10) expeditious reporting, dignified and humane notifcations, and efficient adn thorough assistance to the next of kin of all casualties.
What items are contained in a case file? (1-11) -AF Form 348, Line of Duty Determination -DoD Form 93, Record of Emergency Data -DoD Form 1300, Report of Casualty
What are the responsibilities of the FSS Commander concerning mass casualy? (1-12) Appoints, in writing, the Casualty Augmentation Support Team (CAST) members. The CAST is a group of individuals trained in casualty reporting, notification, and assistance procedures that helps the CAR and other Casualty Services personnel.
What are the responsibilities of the CAR concerning mass casualty? (1-12) -Trains all casualty services personnel at serviced GSUs, PERSCO & CAST members using AFI 36-3002, the installation supp instructions, the installation Mass Disaster/Mass Casualty Plan, & sample messages & letters for reporting casualties & notifying NOK
