Signs and symptoms of hypomagnesemia. | weakness, muscle cramps, arrhythmias, tremors, confusion, disorientation, hallucinations, depression |
Treatment of hypomagnesemia | oral and IV replacement therapy, |
What is hypermagnesemia? | an electrolyte disturbance in which there is an abnormally elevated level of magnesium in the blood. |
Causes of hypermagensemia? | Renal failure. |
Signs and symptoms of hypermagnesemia | Weakness, nausea/vomiting, impaired breathing, hypotension, hypocalcemia, arrhythmias |
Treatment of hypermagnesemia | Diuretics, dialysis, withdrawal of supplements, IV calcium gluconate (magnesium antagonist) |
