Population

Definitions

QuestionAnswer
Population The specific number of persons living in a geographical area (city, town,country, etc.)
Population Density The number of persons per square km and it is described as low, moderate or high
Birth Rate The number of births per 1000 population per year
Death Rate The number of deaths per 1000 population per year
Natural Increase The difference between birth and death rates
Demography The study of population size, structure and distribution (how it is spread over the country)
Overpopulation This is what happens resources are limited in a country as there are too many people living there
Settlement An area where a group of families live together
Urbanisation Rapid growth of the population in urban areas
