Why did Georgia's Constitution of 1777 create a weak government? The legislative branch was too powerful. It appointed the governor and judges and the executive council could overrule the governor.
How was Georgia's Constitution of 1789 different from the Constitution of 1777? It had a bicameral legislature named the General Assembly. The two houses were the House of Representatives and the Senate.
What were the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation? no executive or judicial branch; power was too limited (e.g., no power to tax or settle disputes between states)

Why was the Constitutional Convention needed? Articles of Confederation were too weak and the Confederation government could not unify the states into one nation. This meeting actually resulted in writing an entirely new Constitution.
