7TH GRADE Bill of Rights

AmendmentDescription
Amendment I (1) Freedom for the people.
Amendment II (2) States are allowed armed forces, and weapons.
Amendment III (3) No Soldier can be quartered.
Amendment IV (4) Search warrants must be issued before a search is conducted.
Amendment V (5) No punishment can happen without due process of law. No double jeopardy. No property taken without due process of law, unless eminent domain from government.
Amendment VI (6) Indicted people have a speedy public trial.
Amendment VII (7) Juries decide civil cases.
Amendment VIII (8) Allows for bail. Bans cruel and unusual punishment against someone convicted of a crime.
Amendment IX (9) Allows courts and Congress to decide basic rights of citizens.
Amendment X (10) Any powers not delegated or given to the federal government belong to the states and people.
