Symptoms of Hypoxia - increased respiratory rate, shortness of breadth - lightheadedness - tingling or warm sensation - cyanosis (bluish color around lips and nail beds) - sweating - vision problems - fatigue or sleepiness - poor coordination, loss of fine motor skill
Symptoms of Rapid Decompression - fullness feeling in sinuses/ears/GI tract - lungs, rapid movement of air out of lungs - difficulty in speaking - dizziness, faitness, and cold sensation
Symptoms of Slow Decompression - ear discomfort or popping - joint pain or stomach pain due to gas expansion
Signs of Slow Decompression - unusual noise - 'fluttering' of papers, whisking or hissing around door areas - oxygen masks present themselves from PSUs
Causes of Slow Decompression - faulty door seal - pressurization system failure - cracked window or door leak
Signs of Rapid Decompression - loud bang, thump, or clap - cloud of fog or mist in the cabin - rush of air - decrease in cabin pressure - oxygen masks present themselves from PSUs
Causes of Rapid Decompression - extreme structural damage to A/C - blown window or door; hole in fuselage - explosion
