What is capitalism? The economic system that allowed for businesses to make huge profits by producing and selling goods to consumer. [Doing business]
What is the Platt Amendment? It stated that Cuba needed U.S. approval before it could deal with another country.
What is the Roosevelt Corollary? When Roosevelt decided to help Panama gain independence from Columbia, so he could connect the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific. He believed the U.S. needed to take a stronger roll in protecting [and controlling] Latin America.
Name three aspects of the 1920's that helped define the decade. New technologies [car, radio, talkies], modern fashion, and new music.
What were the three American causes for entering World War 1 in 1917? Freedom of the seas [unrestricted submarine warfare], money back for their loans, and the Zimmerman Telegram.
What was the Committee of Public Information? It had to convince people to support the war by using propaganda.
What was the League of Nations? It set up to keep world peace, it came from Wilson's Fourteen Points which wanted to gain U.S. input into Europe.
