The Russo-Japanese War seemed like an easy win for Japan, but this problem caused them to ask Roosevelt for help in peace mediation Japan was very low on money, Roosevelt let the Japanese and Russian leaders meet in New Hampshire to talk about their problems
Roosevelt was a very relaxing and cordial person. How did he help with the Treaty of Portsmouth? He let the Japanese and Russian leaders meet on his yacht and he helped each side compromise, this won him a Nobel Peace Prize

He added the Roosevelt Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine, reminding Europe that they needed to stay out of our affairs (Monroe) and that if Europe messed with Latin America we would step in
We helped out Nicaragua a TON to keep them out of debt. They paid us back most of the time. Taft, who was president after Roosevelt passed this policy, another reason to keep Europe away from the Carribean The "dollar diplomacy" policy used the US government to guaruntee loans made to foreign countries by American businesspeople
