Pathch | flat, nonpalpable, irregularly shaped macule more than 1 cm in diameter |
Excoration | loss of the epidermis, linear hollowed-out crusted area |
Papule | elevated, firm, cirucmscribed area less than 1 cm in diameter |
Telangiectasis | fine irregular red line produced by capillary dilatation |
Cyst | elevated, circumscribed, ecapsuled lesion |
Pustule | elevated, superficial lesion filled with purulent fluid |
Scale | heaped-up keratinized cells, fleaky skin |
Keloid | iregularly shaped elevated, progressively enlarging scar |
Lichenification | rough, thickened epidermis secondary to persistent rubbing, itching or skin irritation |
Scar | thin to thick fibrous tissue that replaces normal following injury |
Nodule | elevated, firm, circumscribed lession, deeper in dermis than papule |
Bulla | vesicle greater than 1 cm in diameter |
Atrophy | thining of skin surface and loss of skin markings |
Erosion | loss of part of the epidermis, depressed, moist, follows a rapture of bulla |
Wheal | elevated irregularly shaped are of cutaneous edema |
Crust | dried serum, blood or prurulent exudate, slightly elevated, size varies |
Plaque | elevated, firm and rough lesion with flat top surface greater than 1cm in diameter |
Fissure | linear crack or break from the epidermis to the dermis |
