What was the industrial response to the war? | Factories switched from making goods for individual use to making goods that would benefit the war effort. Car factories made tanks, bedspread factories made mosquito netting. |
Who was A. Phillip Randolph? | One of the many minority laborers who believed that minorities had a right to defend and work for the wellbeing of their country. Eventually Roose passed a law against discrimination |
What were scientist's roles in the war? | They researched chemical warfare (the atomic bomb) as well as medicine (pennicillin) |
how did the government take control of the economy? | They froze prices on goods with the Office of price administration and created the National War Labor Board, War Production Board, and the Department of Treasury |
