Science terms

Chapter 1

science is the knowledge gained by observing the natural world
Law is a summary of many experimental results and observations
Theory is a unifying explanation for a range of hyposethisis and observations that have been supported by testing
Hypothesis is a possible explanation or answer to a question
data are any pieces of information gathered through experimentation
scientific methods are the ways in which scientists answer questions and solve problems
observation is the act of using the senses to gather information
volume is the amount of space that something occupies or, as in case of the cage, the amount of space that something contains.
mass is the weight of something
model is a representation of an object or system
meter the basic SI unit of length
temperature is a measure of how hot or cold something is.
