Assistive Technology – AT - requirement of IDEIA as related service.
AT is met in 1st way implement of tech in classrm for all -basic computer programs,video tolls,amplification devices, or dual auditory/visual modalities to aid in instruction
AT met in 2nd way Assistive technology AT–individ. directed use of technology included specific devises, equipmt, and services, based on assessment of student with disability. ex. maybe cochlear implants for deaf or basic computer systems or auditory/visual modalities
augmentative and alternative communication ACC – strategies aid to meet communication w/symbols and other transmission devices
augmentative technology – supports students w/oral language problems
facilitated communication- communication where person provides assistance to student by pointing
instructional tech -drill and practice for those w/problems in basic skill areas and motivation issues
oral reading software – use with students that show reading problems
voice recognition system – replaces keyboard and input device
voice synthesizer – converts text from a computer into sound
word processing software – supports students w/written expression deficits
