Term | Definition |

Mince | to cut or chop into very fine pieces |
Chop | to cut into small irregular pieces |
Grease | to rub a surface with fat |
Boil | to cook in liquid at boil temp,liquid will bubble rapidly |
Simmer | to cook in liquid just below the boiling point,liquid will barely bubble |
Knead | to press and fold dough with hands until smooth |
Combine | to mix two or more ingredients |
Blend | to stir until ingredients are completely mixed |
Beat | quick over and over motion to a smooth mixture |
Dice | to cut into 1/4 inch cubes |
Cream | to blend until smooth and creamy |
Preheat | to bring a heating unit to a certain temperature before using it |
Stir | to mix gently with a spoon in a circular motion |
Garnish | to decorate a dish with a small food item |
Roll | to flatten dough to an even thickness with a rolling pin |
