The hepatic artery supplies what organ(s)? liver
The superior mesenteric artery supplies blood to what organ(s)? most of the small intestines, and part of the large intestine

What vein drains blood from the brain? internal jugular vein
What is the longest vein in the body? great saphenous veins
What artery of the head and neck supplies blood to the superficial areas of the neck, face, and scalp? external carotid arteries
What is the circle of arteries at the base of the brain called? circle of Willis
What 3 groups of blood vessels are associated with the portal circulation? portal vein, the hepatic veins and the hepatic artery
What vein carries blood from the organs of digestion to the liver? portal vein
What artery carries oxygen rich blood toward the liver? hepatic artery
How many blood vessels are in the unbilicus? 3
This structure carries blood from the umbilical vein to inferior vena cava, allowing the blood to bypass the liver? ductus venosus
What structure allows blood to go directly from the right atrium into the left atrium to bypass the pulmonary circulation? foramen ovale
What structure allows blood in the pulmonary artery to go directly into the descending aorta and to bypass the pulmonary circulation? ductus arteriosus
systolic pressure the pressue at the peak of ventricular contraction
diastolic pressure the pressure in the large arteries when the ventrricles of the heart are relaxing
Korotkoff sounds sounds caused by the flow of blood through the brachial artery
What are the structures of the baroreceptor reflex? receptors, sensory nerves, medulla oblongata, and motor nerves
What is missing in the process of the baroreceptor reflex? baroreceptors--sensory nerves(cranial nerves IX,X)--motor nerves medulla oblongata
