Verazzano explorer who explored much of North America's Atlantic coast while unsuccessfully looking for the Northwest Passage
De Soto first European to discover the Mississippi River. explored much of present day Florida looking for gold and treasures.
Cabot explored present day Newfoundland and Nova Scotia
Balboa led an expedition across Panama in search of a great ocean. first European to see the Pacific Ocean from the Americas.
Drake became first person to successfully lead a voyage to circumnavigate the globe.
