JLC Grade 4 Science Chapter 10 Matter & Its Property

QuestionAnswer
What is density? The amount of matter compared to the volume.
What is gas? Matter that has no definite shape and takes up no definite amount of space.
What is mass? The amount of matter something contains.
What is matter? Everything that takes up space.
What is a mixture? Two of more substances that are combined without changing any of them.
Describe a solid. Matter that has a definite shape and volume.
What does solubility mean? A measure of how much material will dissolve in another kind of matter.
Describe volume. The amount of space that matter takes up.
What affects the boiling point of water? Altitude
Is oil or sugar more soluble in water? sugar
List the 3 states of matter Solid, liquid or gas
Mixture of Solution? Mixing salt into water Solution
Mixture of Solution? Adding sand in water mixture
Aluminum has a density of 2.7. Iron has a density of 7.9. Which substances has the least density? How do you know? Aluminum The lower the density the least dense the substance is.
What happens to the solubility of sugar in water when the temperature increases? Solubility of sugar in water increases.
