abstract | existing only as an idea or quality rather than as something real that you can see or touch |
accompanied | went somewhere with someone |
accumulation | gradually increasing in numbers or amount until there is a large quantity in one place |
accurate | correct and true in every detail |
acquisition | the act of getting land, power, money etc |
adjacent | a room, building, piece of land etc that is next to another thing |
adaptation | the process of changing something to make it suitable for a new situation |
adequate | enough in quantity or of a good enough quality for a particular purpose |
advocate | to publicly support a particular way of doing something |
aggregate | the total after a lot of different figures or points have been added together |
albeit | used to add information that reduces the force or importance of what you have just said SYN although |
allocation | the amount or share of something that has been set aside for a particular purpose |
ambiguous | unclear, confusing, or not certain, especially because it can be understood in more than one way |
analogous | similar to another situation or thing so that a comparison can be made |
appendix/appendices | a part at the end of a book containing additional information |
arbitrary | decided or arranged without any reason or plan, often unfairly |
assurance | a promise that something will definitely happen or is definitely true, made especially to make someone less worried |
on behalf of | instead of someone, or as their representative |
bias | an opinion about whether a person, group, or idea is good or bad that influences how you deal with it |
bulk | a big mass or shape of something |
bond | something that unites two or more people or groups, such as love, or a shared interest or idea |
