Who is God? God is personal, eternal Spirit, creator of the universe, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our Father. Psalms 90:1,2
Psalms 90:1,2 Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
What is God's relationship to the World? God created the world by his Word, sustains it by his power, and entrusts it to the care of human beings. Psalms 24:1
Psalms 24:1 The earth is the Lord's and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
What does it mean to be a human being? To be a human being is to be created by God in his likeness, free and responsible in relation to God, the world, neighbor and self. Genesis 1:26
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over the creatures that move along the ground.
What is Sin? Sin is all in thought, word and deed that is contrary to the will of God. James 4:17
James 4:17 Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.
What are the results of sin? The results of sin are broken relationships, a weakening of ability to obey God and finally, eternal separation from Him. Romans 6:23
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
What is meant by a covenant between God and his People? A covenant between God and his People is an agreement in which God promises His care and faithfulness as His people respond in faithful obedience. Deuteronomy 7:9
Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God: He is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands.
What is God's Providence? God's providence is the care by which he upholds all that he has created and guides all according to his wisdom. Matthew 6:26
Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air: they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
What is Salvation? Salvation is the work of God through Christ which liberates people from sin and restores them to a right relationship with God. Acts 4:12
Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
Who is the Messiah? The Messiah is Jesus of Nazareth, God's Son, promised through the prophets. He came into the world to free people from our sin and establish His kingdom on Earth. Matthew 16: 15b, 16
Matthew 16:15b, 16 Who do you say I am? Simon Peter answered, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
