Justice Prevails
Term | Definition |

advocate | a person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause or policy or who pleads for or on behalf of someone |
asylum seeker | a person who has left their home country as a political refugee and is seeking asylum in another country |
biblical prophet | a person who speaks for God or a deity, or by divine inspiration; a person chosen to speak for God and to guide humankind |
Catholic Social Teaching | doctrines that address oppression, the role of the state, social organisation and justice and issues of wealth distribution |
Christian morality | the belief we are created in God's image, so everyone is basically good; however, there are tendencies toward evil |
Common Good | We can only live life in all its fullness when we are in relationship with others - through community |
conscience | a person's moral sense of right and wrong, viewed as acting as a guide to one's behaviour |
conservation | prevention of wasteful use of a resource |
covenant | a promise or agreement |
Dignity of the Human Person | every person was made in the image of God and therefore have a God-given dignity |
disciple | a follower or pupil of a teacher, leader, or philosopher |
exile | the state of being barred from one's native country |
fair trade | trade between companies and producers in developing countries in which fair prices are paid to the producers |
human trafficking | the action of illegally transporting people from one area to another for forced labour or commercial sexual exploitation |
human rights | a right belonging to every person, regardless of nationality, residence, sex, ethnicity, religion, language, or any other status |
Israel | A country in south-west Asia which is home to Jewish people |
Jerusalem | capital of Israel |
mandatory detention | the practice of compulsorily detaining or imprisoning people seeking political asylum |
moral | a lesson that can be derived from a story or experience |
morality | principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behaviour |
poverty | the state of being extremely poor |
prophecy | a prediction of what will happen in the future |
prophet | someone regarded as an inspired teacher or proclaimer of the will of God |
repent | feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one's wrongdoing or sin |
social justice | fair relations between the individual and society; fair distribution of wealth, opportunities for personal activity and social privileges |
Solidarity | A commitment to the good of all; to stand together as one human family |
