Indentured Servant Person who trades their labor in order to learn a new trade or pay for their trip to the colonies
Mayflower Compact A document drawn up by the Pilgrims before getting off the Mayflower that told how the colony would be governed.
Puritan member of the Anglican Church who wanted to "purify" the church by getting rid of all Roman Catholic influence.
Separatists those who left the Puritan church to worship on their own. (Pilgrims)
What happened to the Roanoke Colonies? The first time everyone left on a passing ship because they were starving. The second time they were missing (presumably killed by Indians)
Who was Virginia Dare? The first American born child of English Parents.
What was a joint-stack company? sharing the cost of a colony by getting investors to give a small amount of money.
What was the first Virginai settlement named? Jamestown (Virginis) named after King James of England
