Role as a Clinician | Take radiographs, perform other diagnostic tests, provide services to prevent gingival disease and caries, remove deposits from teeth, apply sealants and fluoride to prevent decay, administer local anesthesia to numb areas and administer nitrous oxide |
Role as an Educator | Can teach dental hygiene or dental courses, present continuing education seminars, write and edit educational materials |

Function of Ohio State Dental Board | 13 members that grant and revoke dental/dental hygiene licenses, enforce the law, examines candidates, biennial registration |
