| Occupational Exposure | Reasonably anticipated skin, eye, mucous membrane, parenteral contact with bloodborne pathogens or potentially infectious materials that may result from the performance of an employees duties |
| Opportunistic Infection | An infection resulting a defective immune system that cant defend the body from pathogens normally found in the environment |
| Optimum Growth Temperature | The temperature at which an organism grows best |
| Pathogen | A disease producing microorganism |
| Parenteral | Taken into the body through piercing of the skin barrier |
