Pentothal IV Barbiturate Rapid induction, small dosage, duration of action is < 5 minutes.
Brevital IV Barbiturate Rapid induction, small dosage, duration of action is < 5 minutes.
Diprivan IV Non-Barbiturate (Hypnotic) Ideal for short outpatient proceedures because of rapid onset and elimination. May be used for maintenance of anesthesia as well as induction.
Nitrous Oxide Inhalation Agent (Gaseous) Potentiates volitile agents allowing a reduction of their dosage, negative side effects and increased rate of induction.
Ketalar (IV or IM) Dissociative Anesthetic Given IV or IM; Potent analgesic and amnestic
fentanyl (Sublimaze) Opioids Induce and maintain anesthesia, reduce stimuli from sensory nerve endings, provide analgesia during anesthetic recovery.
morphine sulfate Opioids Induce and maintain anesthesia, reduce stimuli from sensory nerve endings, provide analgesia during anesthetic recovery.
