Post-Partum Depression

A form of clinical depression which can affect women, and lessfrequently men, after childbirth. Post partum depression (PPD)

What causes postpartum exhaustion? sleep deprivation
How long can postpartum exhaustion last? 1-20 days

What kind of behaviors does a person with the "baby blues" exhibit? crying, hyperexcitability, lack of feeling for baby, saying "I'm not myself, this isn't me."
What are the symptoms of post partum psychosis (PPP)? Bizarre behavior, sight, smell and hearing and touch related hallucinations, feeling detached from others and reality, and urges to hurt oneself or others.
When does PPP occur? 1-3 days after birth to 3 weeks
