(Frontal area) The midline unpaired embryonic structure that develops into the forehead. It is located between the telencephalon, the Stomodeum, and the nasal pits.

An ectodermally covered mesenchymal swelling separating the embryonic olfactory pit from the developing eye (the alae of the nose develops from it) nostril and nasal cavity with development of primary and secondary palates.
