Define: Spacial Resolution Sharpness of the recorded image (recorded detail)
Define: Distortion Radiographic misrepresentation of size, or shape of a part
Define: Long-Scale Contrast LOTS of grey! More densities with less drastic differences. EX; Adbomen/ KUB ~LONG SCALE=LOW CONTRAST~
Define: Short-Scale Contrast Few densities- black&white image. EX; hand xray/lower leg xray ~SHORT SCALE=HIGH CONTRAST~
Example of: Positive Contrast Barium or gastrografin
Example of: Negative contrast Air
Define: Contrast Resolution The ability of any modality to distinguish between differences in image intensity
Define: Quantum Mottle Image noise. less photons reaching IR=more quantum mottle
Define: Image Artifact Any unwanted image on a radiograph EX; bra clips, jewelry, buttons
Define: Attenuation A reduction in xray beam intensity as a result of absorption and scatter in matter- results in 'remnant beam'
Define: Window Level Brightness
Define: Window Width Grey scale
Define: Histogram A graphical representation of pixel intensity distribution on the image
