ARRT comp questions
Question | Answer |
---|---|
Define: Brightness | The amount of luminence of a display monitor Increased Brightness=Decreased Density |
Define: Density | The amount of overall blackness on a processed image Increased Brightness=Decreased Density |
Define: Spacial Resolution | Sharpness of the recorded image (recorded detail) |
Define: Distortion | Radiographic misrepresentation of size, or shape of a part |
Define: Long-Scale Contrast | LOTS of grey! More densities with less drastic differences. EX; Adbomen/ KUB ~LONG SCALE=LOW CONTRAST~ |
Define: Short-Scale Contrast | Few densities- black&white image. EX; hand xray/lower leg xray ~SHORT SCALE=HIGH CONTRAST~ |
Example of: Positive Contrast | Barium or gastrografin |
Example of: Negative contrast | Air |
Define: Contrast Resolution | The ability of any modality to distinguish between differences in image intensity |
Define: Quantum Mottle | Image noise. less photons reaching IR=more quantum mottle |
Define: Image Artifact | Any unwanted image on a radiograph EX; bra clips, jewelry, buttons |
Define: Attenuation | A reduction in xray beam intensity as a result of absorption and scatter in matter- results in 'remnant beam' |
Define: Window Level | Brightness |
Define: Window Width | Grey scale |
Define: Histogram | A graphical representation of pixel intensity distribution on the image |
