QuestionAnswer
Nationalism? Pride in ones country.
Treaty of Ghent? Treaty signed on Christmas Eve in 1814. Both sides agreed to stop fighting. (Armistice)
Era of Good Feelings? Because of the bank, arguments over the tariff internal improvemnets and the sale of public lands, this title was somewhat false. It was called that because of the newspapaer. It was used to discribe the Monroe administrations.
Peculiar Institution? Term used to refer to slavery, which was banned in some places.
Monroe Doctrine? A document that demanded Europe stay on their side of the ocean and that we would stay on our side.
Hartford Convention? 26 important men from different north eastern states meet to discuss grievances and seek redness for their wrongs. The question of succession came up.
American System? Britain tried to distroy the US by putting prices below cost so they could make America suffer. Included Tariff of 1816.
